Skin cancer is the most common of all human cancers. Cancer occurs when normal cells transform, grow, and multiply without normal controls. They form a tumor.

The basic science of oxidative stress and the antioxidant response is not in contention, what an effective antioxidant is. When the body breaks food down into energy, it generates a by-product known as free radicals.

The Relationship Between Cellular Mutation and Cancer

August 20, 2021
Est. Reading: 1 minute

Cancer development requires genetic changes in several different oncogenes and tumor suppressors. Mutated cells occur with any change in the DNA sequence of a cell. Therefore, mistakes may cause mutations during cell division or exposure to DNA-damaging agents in the environment. Thus, cancer is a disease of many cellular mutations.

Cellular Mutation Causes

Radiation—Different types of radiation cause different types of genetic changes. Radiation can directly damage DNA or cause chemicals (i.e., reactive oxygen species or ROS) that can damage DNA or other cell components.

Chemical Mutagens—Many different chemicals are known to cause mutations. These chemicals exert their effect by binding to DNA or the DNA building blocks and interfering with the replication or transcription processes.

Chronic Inflammation—Chronic inflammation can lead to DNA damage due to the production of mutagenic chemicals by the immune system's cells.

Oxygen Radicals—When energy from food is captured in our mitochondria, chemicals that are very reactive and capable of damaging cell membranes and DNA may be generated.

The Cellular Mutation Process

  1. A cell is in the process of DNA synthesis
  2. Many copies of a region of a chromosome
  3. Transcription of amplified genes
  4. Translation of amplified genes
  5. Overproduction of a critical protein leads to the growth of drug-resistant tumors
  6. Duplication occurs

The CC Formula and Mutated Cells

The CC Formula can transport our highly available Zinc and Copper to our target diseased cells (including cancer cells) and kill only the mutated cells, leaving the healthy normal cells surrounding them functioning without disruption. Learn more about the mode of action of the CC Formula.
